Growing

Life cycle
annual
Sun
Full sun
Spacing
10 to 20 cm (4 to 8 in)
Mature height
66 to 76 cm (26 to 30 in)

The flowers are edible too. Use them wherever you'd use basil, or scatter them over drinks, salads and desserts. The flavour is a strong basil with a hint of mint and anise. It looks good in a casual bouquet, too. The more you pick, the more it grows.

Care

Full sun, 10 to 20 cm (4 to 8 in) apart, in soil that never dries out. Pick a little, often. When it starts to flower, cut the whole plant back to 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 in) and it grows again. Don't refrigerate cut basil. Below 10°C (50°F) the leaves turn black.
